Tax Preparation

With more than 25 years of experience, Dream Tax Service prepares accurate federal and state returns and files them electronically whenever possible. We can also help you catch up on prior-year returns and correct mistakes on returns you’ve already filed.

  • Individual and joint returns
  • Small business returns
  • Prior-year (late) returns
  • Amended returns

Fee note: If your preparation fee is paid from your refund and the IRS holds or reduces that refund, we’ll bill you for the fee directly.

Tax Liens, Levies & Wage Garnishments

A tax lien notice, a frozen bank account, or a garnished paycheck can feel overwhelming, but you have options. We help you understand what your notice means, which deadlines apply, and what relief may be available.

  • Review your IRS or state notices and account transcripts
  • File any missing returns, which is often required before relief is available
  • Organize your income, expense, and asset information
  • Prepare the forms to request a payment plan, hardship status, or other relief

Act quickly: You generally have 30 days after a Final Notice of Intent to Levy to request a hearing. The sooner you contact us, the more options you may have.

IRS Audits & Notices

Most IRS audits are handled entirely by mail and focus on specific items on your return. Selection doesn’t necessarily mean you did something wrong, but you must respond by the deadline on the letter.

  • Explain what the IRS is asking for and why
  • Gather and organize receipts, bank statements, and other records
  • Prepare a clear, complete response for you to submit

IRS Payment Plans (Installment Agreements)

If you can’t pay your tax bill in full, the IRS offers payment plans that let you pay over time. Many taxpayers qualify to set one up online, depending on the amount owed.

  • Review your balance and which plan options fit your budget
  • Make sure all required returns are filed
  • Prepare the financial forms if the IRS requires them
  • Walk you through setting up the plan and staying in good standing

Offer in Compromise

An Offer in Compromise lets some taxpayers settle their tax debt for less than the full amount. The IRS looks closely at your income, expenses, and the equity in your assets, and many offers are not accepted, so it’s important to see whether you qualify before applying.

  • Review whether an offer is realistic for your situation
  • File any missing returns first, as the IRS requires
  • Prepare Form 656 and the financial statements that go with it
  • Explain the application fee, payment options, and what happens after you apply

If an offer isn’t a good fit, we’ll help you look at other options, like a payment plan.

Penalty Relief (Penalty Abatement)

Penalties and interest can make a tax debt grow quickly. The IRS may remove certain penalties if you have a good compliance history (First-Time Abatement) or a reasonable cause, such as a serious illness, a death in the family, or a natural disaster.

  • Review your account to see which penalties apply
  • Check whether you qualify for First-Time Abatement or reasonable-cause relief
  • Help you gather supporting documents and prepare your request

Innocent Spouse Relief

When you file a joint return, both spouses are usually responsible for the tax. If your spouse or former spouse underreported income or claimed improper deductions without your knowledge, you may qualify for relief.

  • Explain the three types of relief and which may fit your situation
  • Organize your records and the facts of your case
  • Prepare Form 8857 for you to submit

Deadlines can apply, so don’t wait to get started.

Business Formation (Articles of Incorporation)

Articles of incorporation (or articles of organization for an LLC) are the documents filed with your state to create your business.

  • Compare common business structures from a tax point of view
  • Prepare and file your formation documents with your state
  • Apply for your Employer Identification Number (EIN)
  • Walk you through next steps, such as an S corporation election and business tax filings

For legal advice about liability, contracts, or ownership agreements, please consult a business attorney.

SBA Loan Document Preparation

Most SBA loans are made by banks and other lenders and partially guaranteed by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Lenders will want organized, accurate financial records.

  • Prepare or update the business and personal tax returns lenders request
  • Organize financial statements and supporting documents
  • Help you understand common lender requirements before you apply

Loan approval and terms are decided by the lender.

Business Credit Setup

Building credit in your business’s name can help separate business and personal finances and prepare you for future financing.

  • Set up the basics lenders look for, such as an EIN, business bank account, and business address
  • Help you register with business credit bureaus
  • Explain how business credit is built over time

Mortgage Readiness

Getting ready before you apply for a mortgage can save time and stress. We help you review the areas lenders look at most: credit, debt-to-income ratio, and documentation.

  • Review your tax returns and income documents for lender readiness
  • Share practical steps to improve credit and lower your debt-to-income ratio
  • Connect you with trusted lenders and, when you’re ready, a licensed real estate broker

We are not a mortgage lender or loan originator. Loan approval is decided by the lender.

Veterans

As a U.S. Navy veteran, Vernice understands the questions veterans and their families face. We help with veteran-specific tax questions and can connect you with free, VA-accredited representatives, such as the DAV, VFW, and American Legion, for help filing VA benefit claims.

Please note: Dream Tax Service provides tax preparation, document preparation, and guidance. We are not attorneys, CPAs, or Enrolled Agents and do not represent clients before the IRS. If your situation calls for representation, we’ll tell you and help you find the right professional. The information on this page is general and is not legal advice.
